Statement of Substance and Purpose – Proposed Amendment to SME Market Listing Requirements

In the 2011-2012 National Budget, the Minister of Finance announced plans by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (the Government) to provide small and medium enterprises with an avenue for raising capital on the local capital market in order to reduce their reliance on bank financing. In response to this initiative, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange LImited (TTSE) sought and obtained the approval of the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) to establish Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Market Listing Requirements for companies interested in being listed in this market.
