FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE UNIT OF T&T: The Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (FIUTT) is alerting the Public to be aware of “Smishing”, a form of phishing where fraudsters send deceptive text messages that appear to be from legitimate organisations. These messages often prompt You to click on malicious links or share sensitive/confidential information, such as bank details or passwords or pin#. It’s crucial to remain vigilant, verify the authenticity of any unexpected messages, and avoid engaging with suspicious content to protect yourself from financial loss and identity theft.
