BEWARE OF FAKE AI-GENERATED VIDEOS OF THE MINISTER OF FINANCE
The Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) advises the public about the circulation of fake, AI-generated videos on the social media platform, Facebook that falsely depicts the Minister of Finance, the Honourable Mr. Davendranath Tancoo promoting an investment opportunity.
These videos are artificial intelligence generated and are completely false.
Members of the Public are urged to conduct their due diligence and:
- Do not click on suspicious links
- Do not share personal or financial information with unverified individuals or entities
- Do not send money to unknown or unverified sources
If an investment opportunity appears “too good to be true,” it likely is. Always verify before you invest.
