Launch of Managed Funds Study

A breakfast meeting will be held on March 25th 2010 to mark the launch of a Study of the Managed Funds Industry of Trinidad and Tobago which is being undertaken by the Commission in conjunction with the Caribbean Centre for Money and Finance (CCMF). The CCMF will conduct the study on behalf of the Commission. The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (CBTT), which partnered with the Commission on a previous study of the mutual funds industry, will also be a collaborator on this project. The purpose of the study is to examine and understand the size, range and investment practices and impact of the managed funds industry in Trinidad and Tobago. The study will survey investment and treasury managers in different types of collective investment institutions, including mutual funds, insurance funds, pension funds, trust and asset management companies and trustee divisions or subsidiaries of financial institutions
